The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $483 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.
The Society's Home Office is based in White Plains, NY. Regional chapters are located throughout the United States and Canada. There are seven chapters in California. The Greater San Francisco Bay Area Chapter covers a region that includes counties from San Francisco to the Oregon border including the East Bay.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to finding a cure for blood cancer. In light of this mission, the Society is embarking on a new strategic plan that will provide more than $100 million annually to fund research for a cure. Additionally, the Society will continue to build its program serving patients and their families, as well as continuing to build on its traditional fundraising programs such as Team In Training.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Tactically and strategically manage multiple, complex campaigns, both special event and donor based, for the Bay Area Chapter. Serve as a senior level manager with accountability for financial and human resources including primary supervisory responsibility for multiple staff.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Report to the Chapter Executive Director. Supervise a full-time staff of three including two campaign managers and a campaign assistant.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for all chapter corporate
development including cross campaign strategies. Develop budgets, timelines,
logistics, volunteer activities and recruitment, and marketing and sponsorship
plans.
* In partnership with all chapter campaigns, develop a comprehensive corporate
sponsorship program that brings into account all campaign needs, coordinates
approaches, and makes asks as appropriate.
* Strategically develop all chapter Light the Night walks to achieve
Quantum Growth Initiative goals. Develop a corporate Executive Committee,
with the goal of growing corporate funding and participation and enhancing
corporate leadership development.
* Provide leadership for continued growth for assigned campaigns. Assess
constituent base and develop and cultivate a "book of business" of
high level donors and prospects.
* Work closely with the Board of Trustees in corporate and individual donor
outreach.
* Lead and manage campaign managers in the delivery of programs.
* Ensure that media, material, in-kind and cash sponsorships are
secured through a coordinated plan that includes proposal development, prospect
identification, cultivation, retention and recognition.
* Work in partnership with the Donor Development Director on appropriate
individual, corporate, or foundation requests and/or donor events.
* Recruit and manage volunteers required to plan and implement assigned special
and donor events.
* Identify target audiences and build appropriate marketing and monitoring
strategies to successfully recruit acknowledge, and retain events donors and
participants.
* Develop and coordinate promotional activities to ensure the success of
campaigns and to enhance public awareness of LLS.
* In conjunction with the Deputy Executive Director, complete campaign budgeting
and forecasting. Monitor income and expense associated with assigned
campaigns and create comprehensive campaign records, briefs, evaluations, and
reports.
* Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of five years of fundraising experience with at least two years of
supervisory related experience
* Strong fundraising, strategic planning, and special event experience
* Excellent organizational and management skills
* A passion for finding a cure for blood cancer and a drive to help move
the organization forward toward reaching its vision for the future
* A proven track record of special events experience and working with high
level fundraising volunteers
* Strong organizational skills and a team building approach to all aspects of
work and management
* Ability to attract and retain high quality staff and volunteers
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising database experience
* Proven success in building and implementing broad based development plans
* Bachelor’s degree
